Project description:
The Club 74 e. V. has committed itself to the needs of mentally ill people since 1974. The building in Bad Oeynhausen is used as a day-care and counselling site. The Psychosocial Centre provides mentally ill people with help in order to regain a solid structure in everyday life.
After extensive search the Club 74 and PODUFAL- Wiehofsky found a suiting property in the southern part of Bad Oeynhausen early in 2015.
The 650 m² large area of the former supermarket was rebuilt into a day-care and a community centre.
PODUFAL – Wiehofsky designed the groundplan and space concept, the client was supported during the application for public funds, the building application processes were created and managed, the craftsmen tendered out, awarded and monitored the job, designed the interior. During the four months of construction, comprehensive energy-saving measures have been taken¬. The entire roof and building were insulated, the windows exchanged.
In addition to a kitchen and a living room, the day-care centre offers office space for consultation and discussion. On top of the kitchen, living room and offices an EDP- training room, a large occupational therapy room, a gym with associated locker and shower rooms came into existence. The used materials were suggested by PODUFAL -WIEHOFSKY in respect of longevity and durability. Subtle earth tones combined with fresh green colours create a pleasant atmosphere. Another focus of the renovation was the continuous accessibility.
